The second annual Ontario Google Apps for Educators Summit (GAFE Summit) was hosted by the Waterloo Region District School Board at Eastwood Collegiate Institute on April 5th and 6th.
The event was sold out as 650 educators attended the two-day professional learning session centred around a technology enabled learning theme, building on the recent licensing agreement spearheaded by the Ontario Software Acquisition Program Advisory Committee (OSAPAC) for online office productivity suites. Additional details regarding the agreement are available online at http://www.osapac.org/cms/content/google-apps-education-office365-contract-addendum.
Keynote sessions were presented by a variety of Google Certified Educators who shared their expertise on current instructional and assessment strategies, leveraging Google Apps in this context. Each of the four daily breakout sessions featured 16 keynote and local presenters. Details about the specific sessions offered at available at http://on.gafesummit.com/2014/program/detailed-sessions.
All in all, it was a fantastic weekend of learning and sharing.
