In this session participants will explore how video games can foster deeper learning in the classroom through the Royal Ontario Museum ‘s (ROM) Minecraft Rocks and Minerals pilot program. Digital Content Producer Sarah Jane Elliott and TDSB Teacher Sebastian Basualto will share their experience using Minecraft as a tool to explore the world of Rocks and Minerals while making connections to all areas of the curriculum. Participants will also learn ways to assess learning using tools embedded in Minecraft. The session will highlight key learning outcomes and will include digital documentation including student videos and Minecraft walkthroughs.
