In 2015 Tim started a game design course and immediately found that students had no project management experience. In subsequent years he integrated project management skills into the course which improved student project outcomes in this very student centred course. Alanna is currently taking a post-graduate course in instructional design at Royal Roads University where she has studied (along with graphic design and educational technology), project management! This presentation will tie Tim’s applied experience with Alanna’s theoretical academic background and explain how introducing project management best practices in your student projects can produce powerful, student centred learning opportunities. Tools such as Trello will be shown that provide efficient and effective digital support for the best project management practices and introduce a level of effectiveness to your student driven projects that will astound you.
