Teaching the 21st century learner means educating the whole child to be healthy, happy, academically prepared, young adults. The World Health Organization defines health as a state of “complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”. This guided discussion will begin with a short presentation from the presenter on the strategies and tools they use in their classroom to facilitate student wellness, with specific focus on physical health, mental health, and social-emotional learning. Participants will then have an opportunity to share their resources and engage in a guided discussion about student wellness in their practice. This session is great for those who are passionate about student wellness, or simply want to listen and learn a bit more about how to promote wellness in their classroom. The goals of this session is for people working in education to build your own toolbox that you can use in your online/hybrid/in person classroom, so that you may best support your students and promote overall health for all students. Trigger warning: due to the nature of this session, sensitive topics may arise and may include, but are not limited to: suicide, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, etc
