Description: Explore with your students in this year’s Computer Science Education Week an activity around building structures with MakeCode and Math. Students will put their coding skills to the test in this project-based learning activity by solving math problems in order to build their structure. Students will then enhance their skills by using MakeCode to code the agent to help build their structure using coding fundamentals such as sequences, loops and more.  

Objectives:  

  • Through project-based learning, solve Math problems to find the size of the build  
  • Explain how answers to Math problems were achieved  
  • Code with MakeCode to craft specific areas of the build 
  • Learn how to code using the fundamental concepts of sequences and loops in MakeCode

  • If you’re teaching virtually, join us on the Microsoft Teams call and share your screen with your class.
  • Worried about student privacy? Don’t fret, the lessons are hosted via live stream, so they aren’t even on camera!
  • Worried about timing? Register and you will receive a recording that you can use with your class at any time!
