OECTA Film Club–Angry Inuk



Join us for another Indigenous documentary titled, Angry Inuk directed by Alethea Arnaquq-Baril.

In her award-winning documentary, director Alethea Arnaquq-Baril joins a new tech-savvy generation of Inuit as they campaign to challenge long-established perceptions of seal hunting. Armed with social media and their own sense of humour and justice, this group is bringing its own voice into the conversation and presenting themselves to the world as a modern people in dire need of a sustainable economy.

Film Club Details

Film Club participants will meet twice. Initially for a Film Debut meeting Thursday June 2, 2022 at 7pm and then again for a Film Talk on Monday June 6th at 7:00pm.

The Debut meeting will offer an introduction to the film, and an opportunity to hear from our partners at the National Film Board. Following the meeting Angry Inuk will be streamed and participants will be invited to view the film. Participants that are not available to view the film at that time will be able to view it at their leisure any time before their schedule Film Talk.
