Indigenous Cooking, with a dash of AI (Part 1: Teacher Event)
STEAMlabs, with Mohammad Tahsin
Part 1: Wed., Jan 12th, 2022 at 7:00 pm ET
In this two-part workshop, we invite teachers of all subjects and grades to learn how to integrate AI education into their classrooms!
Part One: On January 12th, we will host an evening teacher-focused training workshop where we will introduce the concept of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how it is able to make predictions using a neural network. Using our interactive online app, we will take a look at the basic building blocks of neural networks and learn how to integrate this format into your classroom! We will go over how to build your own neural network based on your student’s grades, subjects, and lessons. You will learn how to spark discussions with your students around ethics & inclusivity.
Part Two: On January 26th, join us during the day with your class for part two of this workshop where your students can interact with indigenous chef David Wolfman and learn about his culinary principles and how to adapt the AI app to best suit his cultural values!
We send a huge shout out to our friends at Amazon Future Engineer, Kids Code Jeunesse, and Actua for making this activity possible!
Between the first and second part of the workshop, teachers are invited to incorporate the web application and AI education into one of your lessons so your students are well prepared for the live event! If you need one-on-one support after the first workshop on how to integrate these tools into your class, you can reach out to our STEAMLabs team for support.
