Harry Niezen Treasurer
Harry was first involved as a member of the ECOO Board in 2009 when he began serving as Treasurer – a post he held for 4 years.
During that time, he also served as the Treasurer of the ECOO Conference/Bring IT Together for 2010 – 2013. He continued his involvement on the Conference Committee in 2014 and returned to the ECOO Board as one of the Conference Co-Chairs for BIT15 and BIT16.
He is currently serving on the ECOO Board again as the Treasurer for ECOO and for BIT17.
Harry is committed to the promotion of technology as a tool to promote learning. To this end, he has been active in Ontario as a member of the organizing committee for the Ontario Google Summit (2013-2017) and is an active member of the Central Ontario Computing Organization (COCA).
He is committed to the leadership role that ECOO can have in 2017-18 working together with educators, unions and Ministry staff. He firmly believes that ECOO can make a difference in education in Ontario.
Harry works for the Waterloo Region District School Board. For the last 12 years, he has worked as an Instructional Technology Consultant – supporting the use of technology as a tool to promote learning.
